Description
Vintage Unitec Limoges porcelain salt and pepper shakers in the form of traditional Arabic dallah coffee pots. Matching examples have been identified as Emirates First Class passenger gifts, reportedly issued during the 1990s.
Crafted from fine French porcelain, or Pâte de Limoges, each shaker takes the form of a traditional dallah, the distinctive spouted coffee pot associated with Middle Eastern hospitality.
The bright white glaze is accented with hand-painted gold-gilt bands around the pointed tops and bases. Elegant, sculptural, and wonderfully petite, the pair sits at the intersection of luxury travel memorabilia and vintage modern design.
A beautiful conversation piece for a porcelain or airline-memorabilia collection, a distinctive host gift, or an elegant addition to a curated table setting.
Both are fully stamped on the underside with the Pâte de Limoges / Unitec maker’s mark and a black stylized calligraphic emblem.
