Description

A vintage West German studio pottery dish, produced circa 1970s, attributed to Carstens Tönnieshof.

The surface is more refined than the later “fat lava” style and is defined by hand-painted gestural lines and abstract forms set against a deep earthy glaze. The result is painterly and slightly irregular, with a quiet sense of movement across the form.

Suitable as a serving dish, displayed as a sculptural accent, or both!

Dimensions:

12” Diameter

Condition:

Excellent vintage condition with very light wear consistent with age. No chips or cracks observed. Presents beautifully. Please review photos closely.
