Description
A sculptural ceramic vessel by Ardmore Ceramics, South Africa, featuring a finely modeled leopard head with integrated handle and hand-painted botanical decoration.
The surface is richly articulated with Ardmore’s signature patterning; layered cobalt and green tones frame the spotted coat of the leopard, rendered with remarkable detail and expression. The form balances utility and sculpture.
Fully hand-painted and signed to the underside: MH 171, May 2019, made by George & Victor and painted by Nciswe for Ardmore Ceramics.
Ardmore pieces are individually produced in South Africa, with distinct attribution to both sculptor and painter; making each example unique.
Ardmore ceramics are internationally collected and held in museum collections, known for their storytelling, craftsmanship, and cultural significance. Every piece is one of a kind.
A striking example of contemporary African ceramic art suited for display or functional use.
